We normally recommend a Company Flag measuring 240 × 150 cm for a 9–10 m flagpole.

We normally recommend a Company Flag measuring 300 × 188 cm for an 11–12 m flagpole.

Lifespan & Maintenance

The lifespan of a Company Flag depends on factors such as weather conditions, wind exposure and how frequently it is flown. Under normal outdoor conditions, a flag is typically replaced after 4–12 months to maintain a professional appearance.

If you want to maintain a professional image, we recommend replacing your Company Flag once it becomes faded, worn or damaged. Many businesses replace their flags once or twice a year.

The main factors affecting flag lifespan are wind, UV exposure, rain, air pollution and the installation location. Flags displayed in exposed or coastal locations generally wear faster than those in sheltered environments.

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight gradually breaks down colour pigments. This natural ageing process affects all outdoor flags, regardless of fabric or printing method.

As a flag moves in the wind, the fabric is subjected to continuous stress. Over time, this causes wear along the free edge of the flag, eventually leading to fraying.

Minor damage can sometimes be repaired. However, for businesses wishing to maintain a professional appearance, replacing a worn flag is often the most practical and cost-effective solution.

If your flag has become faded, torn, frayed or no longer reflects your brand professionally, it’s time to replace it.

Yes. Company Flags can normally be machine washed on a gentle cycle at temperatures up to 40°C. Regular cleaning removes dirt and airborne contaminants that may accelerate wear.

No. We recommend allowing the flag to air dry naturally to minimise stress on the fabric and stitching.

Store the flag in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. Always ensure the flag is completely dry before folding it for long-term storage.

Prolonged exposure to moisture may contribute to discolouration and premature ageing. Always allow your flag to dry thoroughly before storing it.

Yes. Dirt, pollution, pollen and airborne particles can gradually break down the fabric. Regular cleaning helps extend the life of your Company Flag.

Yes. We recommend lowering your flag during strong winds or storms to reduce wear and maximise its lifespan.

Yes. Our Company Flags are designed for year-round outdoor use. However, severe weather conditions will naturally increase wear over time.

You can significantly extend your flag’s lifespan by washing it regularly, lowering it during strong winds, choosing the correct flag size for your flagpole and replacing worn accessories such as flag clips and halyards when needed.

Yes. Company Flags are outdoor products that are continuously exposed to sun, wind and weather. Over time, natural wear is expected and regular replacement is part of maintaining a professional appearance.

Installation & Use

Company Flags are attached to the flagpole using flag clips connected to the reinforced heading. Once attached, the flag is raised using the halyard.

That depends on the type of flag. Traditional horizontal Company Flags are normally flown without a banner arm. Vertical Banner Flags are typically used with a banner arm to keep the flag fully extended, even in light winds.

A banner arm is a horizontal arm mounted at the top of a flagpole. It keeps vertical flags fully extended, ensuring your logo or message remains visible even when there is little or no wind.

Yes. Standard horizontal Company Flags are designed to be flown without a banner arm. Vertical Banner Flags, however, achieve the best visibility when used with one.

Company Flags are normally attached using flag clips connected to the reinforced loops or webbing on the flag. The number of attachment points depends on the size of the flag.

Flag clips and other accessories are normally sold separately. Please check the product description or contact our team if you’re unsure which accessories you need.

In most cases, yes. The most important factor is choosing a Company Flag that matches the height of your flagpole.

As a general rule, the flag length should be approximately one-quarter of the flagpole height. For example, a 240 × 150 cm Company Flag is typically recommended for a 9–10 m flagpole.

Yes, provided the flag size is appropriate for each flagpole. For the best appearance and performance, we recommend selecting the correct size for every installation.

Yes. Our Company Flags are designed for year-round outdoor use. However, strong winds and severe weather will naturally increase wear over time.

Absolutely. Company Flags are frequently used indoors at exhibitions, conferences, reception areas, showrooms and corporate events.

The flag should be raised high enough to move freely without touching the ground, nearby vegetation or surrounding objects that could cause unnecessary wear.

Yes. Company Flags are an excellent way to increase brand visibility at exhibitions, conferences, sporting events and other promotional activities.

Company Flags are traditional horizontal flags designed for standard flagpoles. Banner Flags have a vertical format and are normally used with a banner arm to maximise visibility throughout the day.

Yes. The same flagpole can be used for Company Flags, National Flags and other flag types, provided the flag size is appropriate for the height of the pole.

In exposed locations, a banner arm or anti-furling accessories can help keep the flag visible and reduce the risk of it wrapping around the flagpole.

We’re happy to advise you on installation, flagpole accessories and the best setup for your project. Please note that professional installation services are currently available in the Stockholm area only.

Common accessories include flag clips, halyards, banner arms, counterweights and replacement flagpole components. The accessories required depend on your flagpole and the type of flag being used.

We recommend checking flag clips, halyards and other fittings regularly to ensure your Company Flag operates safely and performs as intended.

If the halyard becomes worn or breaks, it should be replaced as soon as possible. We offer replacement halyards suitable for most common flagpole systems.

Wind & Safety

Company Flags are designed for continuous outdoor use in normal weather conditions. However, strong winds place significantly greater stress on the fabric and will naturally reduce the flag’s lifespan.

Yes. We recommend lowering your Company Flag during strong winds or storms to minimise wear and maximise its service life.

If severe weather or storm conditions are forecast, it’s advisable to lower your flag until conditions improve. This is especially important in exposed locations where wind speeds may be considerably higher.

Strong winds increase the load on the fabric, stitching and attachment points. Over time, this accelerates wear and may eventually lead to fraying or damage.

Yes. Flags flown on coastal sites, tall buildings, open industrial estates or other exposed locations are subjected to greater wind loads and generally have a shorter service life.

Wind is the single biggest factor affecting the lifespan of a Company Flag. The more the fabric moves and flexes, the faster natural wear will occur.

During extreme weather, high wind loads can affect the flag, halyard and flagpole. We recommend inspecting your flagpole and accessories regularly to ensure they remain in good condition.

You can significantly reduce wear by lowering the flag during strong winds, selecting the correct flag size for your flagpole and regularly inspecting flag clips, halyards and other accessories.

Yes. Larger flags catch more wind and are therefore exposed to greater loads. Choosing the correct flag size for your flagpole is essential for long-term performance.

For particularly exposed locations, a slightly smaller flag may help reduce wind load and extend the lifespan of both the flag and the flagpole. Our team is happy to recommend the most suitable option.

Yes. The halyard is under constant tension while the flag is flying and should be inspected regularly for signs of wear.

In exposed locations, we recommend regularly checking flag clips, attachment points and the halyard to identify wear before it develops into a larger problem.

Yes. A severely worn or damaged flag may eventually detach from its fittings. Regular inspections and timely replacement of worn components help ensure safe operation.

Minor fraying is a normal sign of wear. If the damage becomes more extensive or affects the flag’s appearance, we recommend replacing the flag to maintain a professional image.

Yes. Our Company Flags are designed for year-round outdoor use. To maximise their lifespan, we recommend lowering the flag during storms or periods of exceptionally strong winds.

The combination of strong winds, UV exposure, rain, snow and airborne pollution causes the greatest wear over time. Wind is generally the most significant contributing factor.

Yes. Company Flags are outdoor products that are continuously exposed to the elements. Regular replacement is a normal part of maintaining a professional corporate image.

Wash your flag when needed, lower it during strong winds, choose the correct size for your flagpole and regularly inspect all accessories. Following these recommendations will help maximise the lifespan of your Company Flag.
