Choose the Right Fabric for Your Flags & Banners

Supralon

Supralon is one of the most widely used fabrics for flags thanks to its lightweight construction, allowing flags to fly beautifully even in light winds. It is commonly used for company flags, banner flags and banners with hemmed edges and is best suited to locations with moderate wind exposure. Under normal conditions, Supralon flags have an expected lifespan of approximately three months. Because strong winds significantly increase wear, we recommend taking the flag down when wind speeds exceed 10.8 m/s (24 mph) to maximise its service life.

R-PET Supralon offers the same performance and applications as standard Supralon while providing a more sustainable alternative. Manufactured from 100% recycled polyester (PET), it combines excellent print quality with a lower environmental impact. As with all lightweight flag fabrics, strong winds can reduce its lifespan, so we recommend removing the flag when wind speeds exceed 10.8 m/s (24 mph).

Polystretch

Polystretch is a lightweight perforated polyester fabric that offers approximately 25% greater durability than traditional knitted polyester. The perforated construction improves flexibility while allowing more wind to pass through the fabric, making it an excellent choice for windy locations. It is particularly well suited for fence banners, banner flags and beach flags, where the edges do not require hemming. Under normal conditions, Polystretch has an expected lifespan of around four months. To maximise durability, we recommend removing the flag whenever wind speeds exceed 10.8 m/s (24 mph).

R-PET Polystretch delivers the same performance and applications as standard Polystretch while providing a more sustainable solution. Manufactured from 100% recycled polyester (PET), it combines excellent durability with reduced environmental impact. As with all outdoor flag fabrics, prolonged exposure to strong winds will shorten its lifespan. We therefore recommend taking the flag down whenever wind speeds exceed 10.8 m/s (24 mph).

Marine Polyester

Marine Polyester is our premium woven flag fabric, designed for maximum durability and long-term outdoor performance. Heavier than both Supralon and Polystretch, it offers exceptional strength and is ideal for exposed locations with frequent or strong winds. The fabric is always hemmed to maximise durability and can be produced in seamless widths of up to 2 metres. Under normal conditions, Marine Polyester flags have an expected lifespan of approximately seven months. Regular washing helps maintain vibrant colours by removing dirt, pollution and airborne contaminants. To extend the life of your flag even further, we recommend taking it down whenever wind speeds exceed 10.8 m/s (24 mph).
