Use Your Building as a Guide
A good rule of thumb is that approximately one-third of the flagpole should extend above the roofline. For example, if your building is around 8 metres high, a 12 metre flagpole will usually provide balanced proportions.
The location also matters. A flagpole installed close to a building should complement the building's height, while a free-standing flagpole in an open area may need to be taller for maximum visibility.
